Bank Albilad wins the E-Business Digital Excellence Award

Bank Albilad web site www.bankalbilad.com.sa won the second position of the e-business part of the Digital Excellence Award for 2007. The award was organized by the Ministry of Communications and IT and encompassed more than 180 web sites Kingdom-wide. It aimed at fueling the spirit of innovation in the field of developing the Arabic digital content on the internet.

On this occasion, Mr. Razi Fakih, Acting CEO said: "This award is considered as an appreciation of the bank's efforts in supporting the Saudi banking sector and fostering the e-businesses provided on the internet. The award includes internet banking services - Albilad.net and Albilad Tadawul. It also confirms that the Bank has fulfilled the criteria established by the Award Arbitration Committee, including: e-business service among various sectors; innovation in creating unique approaches within the e-commerce; effortless access to, and proficient response of the customer service center; classification of the products according to their nature or use and displaying such information; and the possibility of completing banking processes on-line".

 "The bank's web site aims at increasing awareness of the bank and the services it provides to its customers and visitors using the most recent technological approaches. In addition to the full range of the bank's products that it offers, it also introduces the bank's organizational structure, executive management, and the Sharia-compliant policy. A visitor can also browse the decisions of the Sharia commission, the bank news on a consistent basis, financial reports, and performance reports of the investment funds", Fakih added.

The site is the main portal of access to the internet banking services provided by the bank. Through this site, Albilad.net, which provides a variety of services, may be accessed. Such services include remittances, payment of bills, underwriting and investment funds, in addition to the possibility of browsing current accounts.

The Albilad Tadawul service provides a variety of unique, innovative and flexible solutions. This includes: opening a portfolio, consolidated trading screen, saved orders, multiple orders, real-time market prices, and online fund transfer between current and investment accounts.
The site has also an experimental flash technology display for both the Albilad.net and Albilad Tadawul.

Fakih expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to the Ministry of Communications and IT for its consistent efforts in upgrading the Arabic digital content on the internet. This award is another example reflecting the Ministry's emphasis of the importance of digital excellence. It supports the initiatives and efforts aimed at encouraging web sites with Arabic content.
