Under the patronage of the Governor of the Central Bank of Saudi Arabia, Bank Albilad signs a banking agency agreement with SMSA

Under the patronage of His Excellency the Governor of the Central Bank of Saudi Arabia “SAMA”, Dr. Fahd bin Abdullah Al Mubarak, Bank Albilad signs a banking agency agreement with SMSA Express Transport Company, after obtaining the Central Bank’s no objection, to provide the bank’s banking services through the company’s service centers located in the Kingdom.

Under this agreement, the signing of which witnessed by His Excellency the Deputy Governor of “SAMA” for supervision, Dr. Fahd bin Ibrahim Al-Shathri, and His Excellency the Director of the General Department of Banking Supervision, Mr. Yazid Al Sheikh, Bank Albilad’s banking services will be provided through SMSA service centers for individual and corporate sectors. These services include accounts, financing products, cards, remittances and other banking services. This in an effort by Bank Albilad to enhance its banking role by being present in various regions of the Kingdom, which helps achieve the vision and objectives of the Central Bank, which are in line with the objectives of the Financial Sector Development Program. This program is one of the programs of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, related to the comprehensiveness of the financial services sector, which aims to expand he banking services and products and enhance financial inclusion for members of society. This is to be achieved with full compliance with the rules governing the practice of banking agency activity issued by the Central Bank, which set the legal framework and minimum standards and requirements for providing banking services and products through agents on behalf of banks, and the regulations and instructions issued by the Central Bank of Saudi Arabia and other relevant regulatory authorities.

On this occasion, Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Anizan, CEO of Bank Albilad said: “The Bank is pleased to reach an agreement with a strategic partner, SMSA Express Transport Company, to provide our banking services through SMSA centers spread throughout the Kingdom. Subject to this agreement, Bank Albilad will provide several services for individuals, companies and institutions with distinctive and competitive options, as a support by the bank to develop a diversified and effective financial sector. This is to support the development of the national economy and diversify its sources of income in order to achieve the goal of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 in developing the financial sector.”
