Bank Albilad launched a new environmental initiative by establishing a Solar System in Albilad Tower, distributed over an area of 1743 square meters. This initiative is regarded as one of the largest initiatives to use renewable and sustainable energy to preserve the environment, which significantly assist in supplying Albilad Tower with clean energy that would reduce environmentally harmful carbon emissions and reduce consumption costs.   

 

This initiative will have positive impact on the environment through: 

Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Anizan, CEO of Bank Albilad said: “Bank Albilad has undertaken this pioneering initiative out of its keenness to enhance its role in the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, specifically in the field of improving the environment and preserving natural resources. We have operated the solar energy system in Al-Bilad tower (the headquarters of the General Administration). This contributes to reducing electricity consumption and reducing costs to help establish environmentally friendly industries, including solar energy.”

“The Bank has launched many initiatives to protect the environment, through following the green building standards in the construction and insulation of all bank's facilities, thereby contributing to reduction of energy use. This is in addition to the initiative to clean the waterfront in Jeddah, "Our Depth", in which more than 500 volunteers participated, and more than 5,000 kg of wildlife threatening wastes were removed. Also, the Bank launched the initiative to clean up Al-Soudah Park in Asir region in Abha city.  This is in addition to the initiative to reuse the ablution water (gray water) for irrigation of trees and plants in the courtyards of mosques. Bank Albilad will always strive to provide many quality initiatives through #Albilad_Initiative in various fields.

It is noteworthy that Bank Albilad pays attention to community service under the umbrella of social responsibility programs #Albilad_Initiative, which exceeds more than 53 programs and initiatives to serve the community, the most prominent of which is “Fazkironi” application for smart devices, which has more than two million and five hundred thousand users. The Bank also participates annually in the World Earth Hour Program to raise awareness of the importance of reducing CO2 emissions and underling their danger to the planet.
