  • Avoid sharing your devices with others or using a shared devices to log into your bank account, especially while travelling.
  • Avoid registering other individuals’ credentials or biometrics (FaceID, Fingerprint) on your device. 
  • Always keep your devices operating system, applications and browser up to date with the latest software updates released by the official source.
  • Protect your computer by Installing Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware software. keep it up to date and ensure that you run regular scans computer.
  • Enable Firewall software on your computer and make sure the firewall is active.
  • In case your device is sold, stolen or lost make sure to unlink it from your bank account. Inform bank Albilad to help with unlinking the device if you weren’t able to.

  • Avoid using public networks such the ones in airports, hotels and cafes. 
  • Use your cellular data when needed. 
  • Make sure to protect your home network with a strong password. 
  • Don’t connect to unknown personal hotspots. 
  • Only use private, secure WIFI networks to do your online banking.

Security tips when online browsing:

  • Avoid using unknown search engines when browsing.  
  • Always make sure that the website starts with https and it has lock symbol.
  • Disable the unnecessary cookies from your browser settings. 
  • Only brows legit and safe websites. 
  • Avoid entering your personal information in any forms unless it’s necessary and legit. 
  • Be cautious when shopping online and make sure the seller is authenticated.  
  • Avoid downloading files from untrusted sources.
  • Avoid uploading files in suspicious websites. 
  • Delete browser cookies regularly. 

Security tips about your passwords:

  • Disable the auto save password from websites and applications. 
  • Passwords shouldn’t be personal information like birthdates or names. 
  • Don’t write all your passwords in one place or on sticky notes. 
  • Make sure to use different password for each app.
  • Avoid reusing old passwords.  
  • Passwords should be changed regularly.
  • Make sure that you use a strong password that’s hard to guess, your password should be more than 8 characters, combination of capital and small letters, numbers and special character.  
  • Be aware that passwords, PINs and OTP are confidential information that shouldn’t be shared with anyone. 

Protecting yourself against cybersecurity threats  

Being aware of the most common cybersecurity threats like social engineering, phishing and Spoofing, helps you identifying them and avoid a lot of the risks that comes from falling into one of them. 
These cybersecurity threats relay on the social aspect of humans and aims to gain personal and confidential information for fraud purposes. You may receive them through SMS, Email, calls, social media or even in real life.  
You play a main role in protecting your accounts from these threats, here are ways to identify if whatever you received is legit:

Think 

  • Does it sound legit? 
  • Do I know who contacted me?  
  • Is what they asking for a personal or confidential information? Can it be shared with unknown individuals? 
  • Is it logical for bank Albilad to ask you disclose your personal information?   

Avoid

  • Responding to requests from unknown individuals whither they called or texted. 
  • Disclosing your personal or confidential information to strangers. 
  • Giving your PINs, OTPs or card information to anyone.

  • Opening suspicious emails or attachments from unknown sources. 
  • Interacting with strangers while using ATMs or E-banking services.
