Arab Urban Development Institute awarded Bank Albilad for sponsoring the 20th Afforestation Conference held in cooperation with King Saud University in Four Points by Sheraton in Makkah, under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Makkah Region.

 

"Bank Albilad is always keen on sponsoring such initiatives, which are an extension of Bank Albilad's programs and initiatives aimed at serving the community and spreading awareness of the importance of afforestation and its positive impact on the lifestyle of community in different regions of the Kingdom." said Mr. Abdul Mohsin Al Mulhim, General Manager of Marketing and Communications and General Supervisor of Corporate Social Responsibility.

 

"We are also proud to be one of the initiators and contributors of plans and programs concerned with conservation and development of environment by increasing interest in afforestation, which helps improving the environment, reducing pollution, fighting diseases and sustaining social life to achieve sustainable development, which is one of the main axes in achieving Saudi Vision 2030."

 

It is worth mentioning that this initiative comes as a part of Bank Albilad's efforts to serve the environment in which it operates under the umbrella of the program #Albilad_Inititve, which includes the Bank's Community Responsibility Initiatives, which exceed more than 36 programs and community service initiatives, one of its most prominent outputs is "fathkrony", an application for smart devices, that serves more that two million five hundred thousand users worldwide. Bank Albilad has also a model branch for the service of people with special needs. In addition to this, Bank Albilad has issued banking terminology dictionary in sign language which is the first of its kind in the Middle East, along with many innovative community initiatives with a sustainable impact. In the field of environmental conservation, Bank Albilad pays the most attention to this aspect by following the green building standards in all the Bank's facilities including insulation and construction materials that contribute to reducing energy use as well as the use of clean energy sources. Bank Albilad also implemented, through Albilad Volunteer Team, a number of environment conservation programs. ​

In addition, the Bank participates annually in the World Earth Hour program to raise awareness about the importance of reducing carbon emissions and their danger to the Planet and the initiative to clean the sea depths.
