Bank Albilad Is a Strategic Sponsor of the Formula 1 Race


The Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (SAMF) announced the signing of a sponsorship agreement with Bank Albilad, to become a strategic sponsor of the Formula 1 race in the Kingdom, through the Saudi Motorsports Company.
The agreement was signed at the headquarters of the Ministry of Sport between His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdullah Al-Faisal, the Chairman of SAMF and the Saudi Motorsports Company, and the CEO of Bank Albilad, His Excellency Mr. Abdulaziz Bin Mohammed Al Onaizan.
Jeddah Corniche Circuit, the fastest and longest street circuit in the world, hosts the Formula 1 STC Saudi Arabian Grand Prix 2022 for the second time in a row, between March 25 and 27. It is the biggest sporting and entertainment event in the history of the Kingdom.
On his part, His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdullah Al-Faisal, the Chairman of SAMF and the Saudi Motorsports Company, welcomed this sponsorship. His Royal Highness stressed Bank Albilad’s leading position in supporting the events enhancing the Kingdom’s presence on the global stage and advancing its goals under Vision 2030. His Royal Highness also noted the importance of the Saudi Grand Prix as one of the most prominent sporting events, as it enjoys the attention and observation of racing enthusiasts. His Royal Highness further stated that we are proud of all national efforts combining to contribute to the success of the event, stressing that this cooperation will consolidate the Kingdom’s commitment and ability to host the biggest international sporting events.
In commenting on the signing, Mr. Abdulaziz Al Onaizan, the CEO of Bank Albilad, stated that “this sponsorship constitutes a cornerstone of Bank Albilad’s strategy that aims at raising the quality of life for citizens and residents. This will directly contribute to achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which is going to transform the Kingdom into a leading global model in the various aspects of life”. Al Onaizan add that “based on the events hosted by the Kingdom, we have found that the Saudi and sporting community is passionate about many sports, which pushes to sponsor one of the biggest global races taking place in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia”. He concluded by saying that “Bank Albilad is always and constantly aiming to contribute to achieving excellence in several sports, both regionally and internationally, and keep pace with the accelerating progress and prosperity taking place in our in our beloved country”.
This partnership is the first of its kind in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, involving a Saudi bank in a huge global event such as the Formula 1 Grand Prix. This step reflects the interaction of the Kingdom’s private sector, in terms of taking interest in the global events hosted by the Kingdom, due to their social, economic, touristic and cultural impact. It also embodies the Saudi Motorsports Company’s strive for promoting domestic partnerships and helping national institutions in presenting their brand to a wider domestic and global audience, in line with their objectives and marketing plans.
