Bank Albilad a strategic sponsor of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities for the year 2019

Bank Albilad sponsors “Sahl Alwusul” exhibition on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2019 at King Saud University under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Riyadh. Bank Albilad’s sponsorship of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2019 stems from the bank’s interest in its social role, which is an important pillar of its strategy. Through its strategy, the bank always aims to serve all spectrums of society to ensure that they enjoy a healthy lifestyle, easily benefit from all banking services, and maintain economic and social balance, in order to achieve the objectives of the ambitious Vision 2030 in promoting and developing the principles of social care to build a strong and productive society.

Mr. Abdulaziz bin Muhammad Al-Anizan, CEO of Bank Albilad said: “We, at Bank Albilad, are proud for sponsoring this great event, which is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. This reflects the Bank’s care and commitment towards this category as well as its interest in promoting the principles of community participation, which is a social and human duty. During the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the Bank launched many activities and events, as the Bank sponsored the Pioneers of Hope (walking marathon) for all people with disabilities (hearing/motor/visual/children with special needs), in which the number of participants reached more than 500 people. The Bank honored the winners and presented prizes and gifts to all participants.”

Al-Anizan added: “Bank Albilad contributed to the launch of many community initiatives by more than 42 initiatives in various fields, specifically in the field of serving people with disabilities, by establishing the comprehensive access branch at the specialized hospital (At-Takhsusi). It is the first fully equipped bank branch to serve people with visual, hearing and motor disabilities, where Braille printers, simultaneous translation services all services for people with disabilities are provided. The Bank has also undertaken several initiatives, including the establishment of a sign banking dictionary for the first time in the Kingdom and the Middle East, which is concerned with translating banking vocabulary into sign language for people with hearing disabilities. In addition, the Bank has recently harmonized more than 75 ATMs in the country’s branches for the persons with visual disability. This helps the bank, based on its national role, to provide many initiatives and programs of sustainable impact in all fields.

It is noteworthy that Bank Albilad pays great attention to community service under the umbrella of social responsibility programs #Albilad_Initiative, the most prominent of which is the “Fazkironi Application” for smart devices, which has more than two million and five hundred thousand users. This is in addition to many innovative community initiatives with a sustainable impact. Moreover, the Bank recently has won the award of the Best CSR initiative, for its campaign to clean up the depths of the waterfront in Jeddah under the motto "deep down on us", in which more than 500 volunteers participated and more than 5,000 kg of wildlife threatening wastes were removed. In addition, the Bank pays the most attention to the protection of environment through following the green building standards in the construction and insulation of all bank's facilities, thereby contributing to reduction of energy use and the use of clean energy sources through the use of solar panels for energy in the Bank Albilad Tower (General Administration in Riyadh). This is in addition to the initiative to reuse the ablution water (gray water) for irrigation of trees and plants in the courtyards of mosques.
